Ole Hanson Beach Park

Presented by North Beach Green Alternative

Ole Hanson Beach Park will revitalize North Beach by extending rolling green lawns on the northwest side of the historic Ole Hanson Beach Club for the public to enjoy.  This seaside park will enhance and preserve ocean views from Ole Hanson Beach Club, the Casino, the MIramar, Ichibiri, El Camino Real & Pico, and the Pacific Coast Bike Route on Calle Deshecha.

The park plan will reduce existing parking by 29 spaces; and it will create at least 45 new parking spaces on city owned property south of El Camino Real.  This will result in a net increase of 16 convenient new parking spaces in addition to the new Ole Hanson Beach Park.

Existing historic coral and signature palm trees will be preserved, and additional trees and shrubs will enhance the park.  See the Conceptual Park Plan by local architect Ricardo Nicol, and the Landscape Drawing by Bill Hilliard.

Ole Hanson Beach Park will fulfill Ole Hanson’s vision of a beachside park and will greatly increase recreational opportunities for those visiting North Beach.
